What is the Teacher's Training Programme?
The Teacher's Training Programme (TTP) is intended for people who wish to train as authentic Buddhist Teachers, and also for those who wish to gain a clear insight into Buddha's teachings and deep experience of their practice.
All Resident Teachers of Kadampa Buddhist Centers follow this in-depth program of study and practice.
In addition to completing the study of these twelve texts, participants are required to observe certain commitments with regard to behavior and way of life, and to complete a number of meditation retreats.
Participants can either begin with the Foundation Programme (FP) and then enroll in the TTP, in which case the subjects already studied on FP will automatically count towards TTP, or they can enroll in the TTP from the outset.
In addition to the four years on Foundation Programme, the Teacher Training Programme takes a further eight years to complete.
What are we studying?
Great Treasury of Merit is a comprehensive explanation of Offering to the Spiritual Guide, one of the most profound meditation practices of Mahayana Buddhism.
In this highly acclaimed guide, Geshe Kelsang shows clearly how to rely upon a Spiritual Guide, the foundation of all spiritual attainments.
He explains the three essential components of Buddha's Sutras and Tantras - the two preliminary practices of the stages of the path and training the mind, and the actual swift path to full enlightenment, Vajrayana Mahamudra.
This book is a great wealth of spiritual guidance and an indispensable resource for those wishing to integrate all their spiritual practices into the Tantric swift path to full enlightenment.
