Life in Huddersfield

Huddersfield is the largest town within the UK, and is credited as being the largest in Europe. It is a market town, with culturally diverse residents and a large student population. It is noted for its Victorian architecture, and has the third highest number of listed buildings in the UK.

It has a large and diverse shopping area, compared to most towns of its size, and boasts of three shopping centres! Within the centre of Huddersfield you can enjoy short walks along the canal, or go further afield to enjoy the scenery from Castle Hill.

Each year Huddersfield hosts the Festival of Light, Carribean Carnival, Asian Mela and Timeless Music festival. Alternatively you can enjoy dance, comedy, drama, music or exhibitions in Lawrence Batley Theature located in the heart of Huddersfield.
