How can I help?

Vajrapani Buddhist Centre, which has been at the heart of the community in Kirklees since 1997, has moved to the former Birkby Baptist Church. This new residential centre will provide a unique public space dedicated to world peace and offering a place of refuge to Buddhists and non-Buddhists alike. The new meditation room will be one of the largest Kadampa Gompas in the UK, seating comfortably over 250 people.

At different times in the year the Centre is used for: Weekly Meditation Classes | Special Day Courses | Retreats Classes for the under 16s | Buddhist Empowerments | Public Talks | Advanced Study Programmes | Teacher Training | Residential Buddhist community | World Peace Café | Chanted prayers | Personal meditation and contemplation.

There are many ways in which you can help the Centre during this period of development, and in the future. We need skilled and unskilled volunteers to donate time and labour. Volunteers can either come for a working visit for a week, or simply a few hours. We also have a Development Fund fiancing the three phases of growth, and donations are always welcome

“ A beautiful gift for future generations.”
