Vajrapani Centre is open to the community of Kirklees. It offers a wide varity of Buddhist study Programmess and workshops for people of all backgrounds. It also has special events that attract those looking for a deeper experience of the Buddhist teachings.

We also hold empowerments which are ceremonys where we receive a special blessing and teachings emphasising one aspect of Buddhist teachings.

What is an empowerment?

An empowerment is a special ceremony in which we receive blessings of Buddhas into our body and mind to help us gain realisations of spiritual truths and help us overcome obstacles. We sometimes have senior teachers of the New Kadampa Tradition visit to grant empowerments but generally the empowerments are given by Vajrapani Centre's Resident Teacher Gen Kelsang Pagmo.

When's the next empowerment?

Je Tsongkhapa Empowerment
31st December 2008- 1 January 2009

Je Tsongkhapa showed a perfect example of how to build the foundation for the spiritual path, how to progress on that path, and how to complete it. First he studied Dharma extensively, then he realised all Buddha’s teachings are personal advice, and finally he gain a deep realisation of Dharma through practising day and night.
By receiving the blessing Empowerment of Je Tsongkhapa we can build a special connection with this enlightened Teacher, so that we ourselves might become spiritual practitioners.
